[The communicator clicks on and she starts to says something but stops shorts, several moments of static silence following, before it disintegrates out with wood cracking—maybe a door. It's followed by the general generic sounds of some type of monster before the connection fizzles out as the device smashes into something. Its connection reconnects minutes later to the sounds of footsteps quietly approaching it, the entire transmission still static ridden, and it's picked up. Her voice comes over the communicator finally, quiet and distant, just barely loud enough to be heard above the static.]

[her voice is steady, but quiet as if she's trying to get used to the sound of it and the circumstances around her. At least half typical, probably, for someone new to this place.]
